About Grex Login IDs

Your Login ID is your public identifier on the system; it's what you will type at the "login:" prompt to identify yourself to the system, as well as what others will type when they want to send electronic mail to you. It will also be used in numerous other situations to uniquely identify you. Because you'll be using it so much, you should pick something that's relatively easy to type and remember. Many people use their first name, their initials, their first initial plus their last name, or something along those lines. This is the name you will be known by, it is not your secret password! Pick something that won't embarrass you.

Your Login ID may be 3 to 8 characters long. It can contain lowercase letters and digits, but not upper-case letters or symbols. A few examples:

denise - Denise M. Anderson
robh - Rob Henderson
bubbles - Tom Digby

At this point Grex has over 13,000 users, so finding a name that's not in use might prove a little challenging. You can get (long) lists of all login id's starting with each letter of the alphabet below:
